My research career comprises 18 years of work in Obesity and Autoimmune and Inflammatory Diseases which has given me an extensive background in molecular mechanisms underlying thrombosis, metabolic complications and cardiovascular disease. The quality of my investigation is supported by the publication of the findings in journals of high relevance in each area, the direction of thesis and projects, the participation in national and international projects and the generation of four patents.
Currently, I am holding a “Ramon y Cajal” contract (national competitive grant, aimed to support emerging principal investigators) in the University of Cordoba, and where I am doing both, research in rheumatology and teaching activity in the degree in Medicine and the Master of Translational Research in Biomedicine. I have published more than 75 articles, being main author in 30 of them. I have been involved as associate investigator in 30 international and national research grants. I have been principal investigator of 6 grants (funded by both, private companies and the Council of Health). I have directed five theses. My teaching experience is supported by the direction of six master final projects, and the classes given in graduate and post-graduate courses. My H-index is 26. My total impact factor is 327.5
