Francis Lao is a first year paediatrics resident at the University of Toronto. He completed medical school at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. He grew up in North York and received his Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University. Since the age of 16, he has conducted research on Kawasaki Disease as a research student at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and McMaster University. In addition, he advocates for increased representation of Black, Indigenous and people of colour in medicine, ending homelessness in Hamilton, and Filipinx health.
