Yannick Allanore has been Professor of Rheumatology at Université de Paris since 2008. He is the Head of a research group working on the cardiovascular aspects of systemic sclerosis (SSc) through both clinical and basic research programmes, including genetic and cellular biology approaches (INSERM U1016, Cochin Institute). The team has also established a platform of SSc-related animal models which allow the investigation of therapeutic candidates on the various aspects of the disease using complementary mouse models, including the Fra-2 and TNF-alpha transgenic mice that develop lung fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
Professor Allanore has published over 400 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of several professional bodies, including the French Rheumatology Society and the American College of Rheumatology. He is the former elected chairman (2013-2019) of the European Scleroderma Trials and Research group (EUSTAR) and is now a member of the steering committee of the World Scleroderma Foundation. He was in charge of the scientific programme of the 6th Systemic Sclerosis World Congress 2020.
