Miriam Shelef, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Shelef received her MD and PhD from Columbia University and completed residency and fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Shelef’s lab uses animal models and biological materials from human subjects to study inflammation and autoimmunity with a major focus on autoantibodies and citrullination. She is also the founder and director of the UW Rheumatology Biorepository. Her work has been supported by the Rheumatology Research Foundation, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the NIH NIAMS, and the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
