Dr. Shah is a rheumatologist with clinical and research expertise in systemic sclerosis, as well as the connection between cancer and autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Her epidemiological and translational research studies have focused the following major areas: (1) the link between scleroderma and cancer, (2) examination of rheumatic adverse events after treatment with immunotherapy for cancer, (3) cardiopulmonary complications of scleroderma including pulmonary arterial hypertension and right ventricular dysfunction, and (4) Raynaud's phenomenon and ischemic digital ulcers. In addition to her research focus, she serves as the Associate Director of the Johns Hopkins Division of Rheumatology and as the Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center.
