Anna Balakrishnan, LMSW, is a part of the Department of Social Work Programs at the Hospital for Special Surgery. In her role as Social Work Coordinator for Latinx Outreach in the Inflammatory Arthritis(IA) Support and Education Programs, Anna worked alongside the IA Team to develop a culturally tailored, disease-specific, and patient centered support and education program for Latinx rheumatoid arthritis patients. Now, in her per-diem role at HSS, Anna continues to drive patient-centered research in pursuit of the program's mission of creating and providing patient-informed, culturally tailored support and education programs for patients with inflammatory arthritis.
