Dr. Haroon is the head of the division of rheumatology at the University Health Network and Sinai Health, Toronto. He is a clinician scientist, an Associate Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Toronto and Senior Scientist at the Schroeder Arthritis Institute, Toronto. He supervises graduate students at the Institute of Medical Sciences. His research focusses on ankylosing spondylitis (AS).
Dr. Haroon is a scientist at the Krembil Research Institute, a state of the art research facility in Toronto, where his lab is located. His research has led to several landmark findings that clarified our understanding of the cause and improved the care of patients with AS.
