A. Darise Farris obtained a PhD in Molecular Immunology in 1995 in the laboratory of John B. Harley at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) followed by a United States Arthritis Foundation-supported post-doctoral fellowship in T lymphocyte immunology in the laboratory of James McCluskey at the University of Melbourne. In 2001, she was appointed to the faculty of the Arthritis and Immunology Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) under the leadership of Morris Reichlin and as adjunct faculty in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at OUHSC. She is currently a Member of the Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Program at OMRF under the leadership of Judith A. James and Adjunct Professor in both the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Department of Pathology at OUHSC. Dr. Farris previously served on the National Institutes of Health Oral Dental and Craniofacial Sciences study section from 2015-2019 and is currently Director of the OMRF Oklahoma Sjögren’s Research Clinic. She has mentored six PhD graduates, five post-doctoral fellows and numerous undergraduate students. She is the author of over 70 articles and book chapters. Dr. Farris is currently working to decipher the role of T cell specificity, heterogeneity and molecular programming in Sjögren's syndrome.
