Arissa Young is a second year rheumatology fellow at UCLA in the Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) program. During her fellowship at UCLA, she will be pursuing a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology in the lab of Heather Christofk where she will be studying the adipose to mesenchymal transition in systemic sclerosis. After fellowship, Arissa is interested in continuing her career in rheumatology as a physician-scientist with a focus on investigating metabolism in systemic sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases.
