Dr. Nicole Johnson is a clinical pediatric rheumatologist practicing at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Johnson has been a passionate advocate for community awareness for children with rheumatic diseases. In addition, she has a special interest in medical education. Currently she is the Evaluation Coordinator for Pediatric Clerkship for the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. She holds the position of Co-Curriculum Lead for Post Graduate Medical Education for Racial Equity in Healthcare also at the Cumming School of Medicine. She is a past member of the national Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Subspecialty Examination Board for Pediatric Rheumatology.
She has been actively engaged in anti-Black racism advocacy work. She is the Chair for the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Task Force for the Canadian Rheumatology Association and Vice-President of the Black Physicians’ Association of Alberta (BPAA) and serves as the physician lead for the BPAA’s Black medical students’ mentorship program.
