Maria-Antonietta D’Agostino, MD, PhD is Professor of Rheumatology at the Catholic University of Rome, Italy, and Head of the Rheumatology Department. She is also Professor of Rheumatology at Paris-Saclay Versailles-Saint-Quentin University, France, and Honorary Professor at Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine, Leeds University, UK.
Her major research interest is the validation of ultrasound as outcome measurement instrument in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis/spondyloarthritis and osteoarthritis. She engages in a wide range of research, ranging from the methodological and proof-of-concept approach through to large national and international clinical trials. She has published several major papers in the field.
She is an OMERACT Executive Member, mentor of the OMERACT Ultrasound Working Group. She served as Chair of the EULAR Standing Committee on Musculoskeletal Imaging from 2010 to 2014, and she is a Faculty of the EULAR Sonography Courses since 2003.
