Aleta McLean is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Masters in Professional Counseling from Argosy University, and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from Clark-Atlanta University. She is currently the Senior Director of Client Services and Outcomes for the nonprofit Open Hand Atlanta where she directs Client Services and manages the Programmatic Team which leads programs and policy, processes, and oversees government grants. Aleta has been a driving force in Open Hand becoming a preferred provider of partner-agencies. Aleta has led several successful expansion initiatives and also participates on the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team, ensuring client concerns are being properly addressed. Aleta also works as a patient advocate and clinical trial recruitment consultant for Lupus studies programs. She has prior experience in provision of case management and counseling services. Aleta is a member of the Metropolitan Atlanta HIV Health Services Planning Council, and the Food is Medicine Coalition. She is also a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, GA where she participates on the Health Resource Ministry, an active member of the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association- Dekalb chapter, member of Junior League of Dekalb County, and advocacy co-chair and support group facilitator for the Lupus Foundation of America-Georgia chapter. When she's not working, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and watching football
