Dr. Davis is Practice Chair and Vice Chair of the Division of Rheumatology and Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Davis’s research focuses on improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients with early inflammatory arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Dr. Davis is the principal investigator of the Mayo Clinic Early Arthritis Cohort Study that aims to discover novel diagnostic and prognostic markers for individualized disease-modifying therapy for patients with early RA using multi-omics approaches. He is studying the impact of integrating patient-reported outcomes (PROs) into clinical care on shared decision-making between patients with RA and their rheumatologists with the long-term goal of enhancing patient-centered health outcomes. Dr. Davis collaborates on several other research projects, including studies of preclinical autoimmunity and “pre-RA,” assessment and management of multimorbidity, and the impact of RA on the risk of cognitive impairment and dementia.
