Dr. Ramsey-Goldman was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh after she completed her rheumatology training. She relocated to Chicago where she continued as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University where she rose through the ranks to Professor followed by an appointment as an endowed professor, Solovy Arthritis Research Society Research Professor of Medicine. Subsequently, she received the Gallagher Research Professorship in Rheumatology . She is a leader in clinical investigation locally, nationally and internationally. Her research program examines risk factors to minimize complications in lupus, studies genetic risk factors for disease severity/susceptibility; collaborates on investigations studying pathogenesis of disease; develops disease classification criteria, flare assessments, nephritis guidelines, assessment of physical activity as it related to patient outcomes (fatigue), and developed community education programs for lupus awareness, improving diversity in lupus clinical trial participation, and vaccine hesitancy in RMDs. Dr. Ramsey-Goldman has been held numerous volunteer positions for the ACR including Chair of SOTA, Professional Meetings Committee, COE. and COIN. She has served on the Board of Directors, was a member of the Nominations and Appointments committee, was an associate and co-editor for A&R, and she served on the Scientific Advisory Council for the RRF.
