Dr. Katherine P. Liao, MD, MPH is a rheumatologist and clinical investigator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is Associate Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. She has a joint appointment at the VA Boston Healthcare System where she co-directs the Applied Bioinformatics Core as part of the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center. Dr. Liao received her MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and her MPH from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. She completed Internal Medicine residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and rheumatology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Her research focuses on integrating state-of-the-art bioinformatics approaches using electronic medical record (EMR) to conduct studies aimed at improving our understanding and management of human diseases with a clinical focus on rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular risk.
