Dr. Naik joined the staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in July 2019. He graduated summa cum laude with Highest Honors from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Dr. Naik completed his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha). He received his postgraduate training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for residency in Internal medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. In his time as a GI Fellow, he served as the Chief Fellow, completed his Master’s of Science in Clinical Investigation at Vanderbilt University, and was selected as the Editorial Fellow for Gastroenterology from 2018-2019 and is currently on the Editorial Board for Gastroenterology
Dr. Naik’s research interests include esophagology with specific interests in the management of rheumatological manifestations of the esophagus, eosinophilic esophagitis, novel techniques for the management of achalasia, and optimization of extraesophageal reflux for lung transplant with a sub-focus on mast cell disorders. Locally, he serves as the director of Fecal Transplant at VUMC. Nationally, he serves on the ACG Training Committee, the AGA Quality Leadership Council, and the AGA Best Practices Committee.
