Kori Dewing, DNP, ANP-BC, is an Adult Nurse Practitioner (NP) working in Rheumatology since 2003. In 2009, she returned to the University of Washington to complete a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of an EMR embedded tool designed to improve rates of DXA screening. She currently splits her time between clinical work and teaching.
As a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Dr. Dewing has focused her volunteer efforts primarily on educational programs and projects focused on training new NPs and PAs entering the field of rheumatology. She has served as a member and chair for the Clinical Focus Course, ARP Practice Committee, the Annual Meeting Planning Committee, and the Annual Meeting Abstract Committee. She has served on ACR committees, task forces, and programs including the Committee on Rheumatologic Care (CORC), Volunteers to Expand Rheumatology (VERA), Advocates for Arthritis, & the ACR Finance Committee. Dr. Dewing is an author for the Fundamentals of Rheumatology Course and recently completed her term as an Assistant Editor for the Advanced Rheumatology Course. Dr. Dewing was the proud co-recipient of the 2010 ARP President’s Award, recognizing the work she did in developing the Advanced Practice Skills Training Course created to accompany the Advanced Rheumatology Course. She is currently ARP President-Elect.
