Anya is a senior at the University of Southern California studying Health Promotion & Disease Prevention and Spanish. She is particularly interested in young adult patient empowerment and health literacy. As a patient with a chronic condition herself, she hopes to one day use her lived experience to serve pediatric and young adult populations as a physician. Anya is a member of the Young Patients’ Autoimmune Research and Empowerment Alliance (AREA), where she works to improve patient inclusion and engagement in healthcare and research. She is also a member of the Lifestyle Redesign for Chronic Conditions Lab in the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, where she works with diabetic participants in the REAL-T Diabetes Study.
