Dr. Golightly is Assistant Dean for Research and Professor of the College of Allied Health Professions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is an epidemiologist and a physical therapist with over 19 years of research experience and over 120 peer-reviewed publications. Her research focuses on osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal injury, lower body musculoskeletal disorders, physical activity, and common comorbid conditions associated with osteoarthritis. She was Principal Investigator (PI) of an NIH R01 project titled “The Role of Joint Hypermobility in Lower Body Osteoarthritis,” and, as of 2017, is co-PI (with Dr. Amanda Nelson) of the Johnston County Osteoarthritis Project and the Johnston County Health Study.
