Dr. Seza Ozen is the head of Dept. of Pediatric Rheumatology at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. Her research focuses on autoinflammation, Behҫet’s disease and vasculitis.
Dr. Ozen graduated with her medical degree from Hacettepe University in 1982. She thereafter had a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in California. Since 1992, Dr. Ozen has served in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine as an Assistant, Associate, and now full Professor.
One of her main research interests is vasculitis. She has pioneered the classification work in childhood vasculitides and international clinical collaborations. She has been a member of the European committee that published recommendations for childhood vasculitides. Currently her group is involved in omics works in vasculitis.
Dr Ozen is a member of the “European Academy of Sciences and Arts”. Dr. Ozen is the past-President of the International Society of Autoinflammatory Diseases (ISSAID), Counselor for PRINTO, Executive Committee member of “FOREUM, the Pediatric representative in the International Society of Behçet Disease Society, and an Honorary Member of both the EULAR and the PReS and a Steering Committee Member of the Eurofever Project. She has received the 2018 Medical Prize for TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences)
In addition to authoring chapters in 11 rheumatology textbooks, Dr. Ozen has also published >500 journal articles with >15 000 citations
