Michelle Yau is a genetic epidemiologist with a research focus on clinical and genetic risk factors for common age-associated conditions such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Her research interests include mechanisms of aging in musculoskeletal disease, genetic pleiotropy across age-associated traits, and integration of genetics, epigenetics, and transcriptomics to identify novel biomarkers. She has expertise in genome-wide association studies and multi-omics studies of musculoskeletal traits, as well as longitudinal and survival analysis. She currently works on data from the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), Multicenter Osteoarthritis Study (MOST), and Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI).
