I am an infectious diseases physician and epidemiologist with a background in grassroots environmental activism and nonprofit leadership. My research and clinical interests are centered on marginalized populations, particularly sexual and gender minoritized (SGM) adolescent and young adults of color. In my role as the Diversity Champion for the Infectious Diseases Division and a member of the Department of Medicine’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) council, I work to address structural and institutional inequities to improve the professional lives of the Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) community. I am also passionate about enhancing the cultural competence of physicians in caring for SGM populations.
