Dr. Crystal Withers is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Integrative Rheumatology. She began her adult academic training at Norfolk State University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry Pre-Medicine. After a year-long post baccalaureate program at Duke University, Dr. Withers matriculated into the School of Medicine and ultimately graduated from Duke University School of Medicine (MD ‘13) and Duke University Department of Pathology (PhD ‘12). While at Duke, she was heavily involved in leadership and mentorship through the Student National Medical Association at local and national levels over a span of 8 years, School of Medicine admissions committee for 2 years, and Summer Medical & Dental Education Program as a teaching assistant for 4 years. Upon leaving Duke, Dr. Withers went on to serve as Director of Operations for Nikao Church to establish and launch this successful and ongoing ministry. After 3 years, she went on to build and manage Integrative Rheumatology with her husband, Dr. Charles Withers, II, which exists today as a private practice rheumatology clinic with a focus on wellness and integrative strategies to provide health, hope, and healing for rheumatology patients. She is also mother to three young children: Layla, Portia, and Charles Alex who have been her greatest teachers.
