Peer review is a cornerstone of scientific advancement. Additionally, conducting manuscript reviews improves the likelihood of having one’s manuscript accepted into a peer-reviewed journal. The Editors-of the ACR journals, Arthritis & Rheumatology, Arthritis Care & Research, and ACR Open Rheumatology, will provide tips on conducting effective reviews and on how to present one's own manuscripts for peer review.
Key aspects of reviewing basic, clinical, and socioeconomic studies and how best to communicate the points addressed will be covered. Attendees will also learn what editors expect in a review, how to conduct peer review in a manner that is helpful both to the author and to the editor, and how to best move a manuscript toward publication.
