The overall goal of this session is to provide a general understanding of how bone tissue is affected during inflammatory conditions and appreciate the variation of the signals that contribute to pathological bone remodeling. The new advances in the field in the regulation of bone remodeling will be summarized by a didact lecture delivered by an authority in the field (Peter Croucher (Cell 184, 1330–1347, March 4, 2021), as well as a couple of recent examples of cell metabolism in OA (Nat Commun. 2020 Jul 9;11(1):3427) and RA from (Drs Abu-Amer and Gravallese).
