This session will provide examples of each hybrid design type, including applications within rheumatology practice. The speakers will provide an overview of the different types of hybrid designs and contrast these to more traditional intervention study designs (i.e., RCTs), as well as provide examples of when and how each type has been used in the rheumatology context. Attendees will be encouraged to discuss application of the hybrid design to different research scenarios.

Learning Objectives:

Contrast the three different types of hybrid effectiveness designs and the rationale and relevance for their use in implementation studies for rheumatic conditions
Recognize the differences between hybrid effectiveness designs and traditional designs
Describe type 1, 2, and 3 hybrid designs and provide examples of when and how to apply in a rheumatology context
