The exponential growth and uptake of telemedicine in the last few years has forced its future consideration by patients, physicians, legislators, and regulatory bodies. Despite its limited history, study, and research, telemedicine has its proponents and critics. Wider real-world experience, novel research, and objective analyses of this modality warrant a reconsideration of whether telemedicine will persist and grow or stagnate with waning interest. This session aims to elucidate:
1. The current state of telemedicine in rheumatology
2. Best practices in telehealth
3. The advances and research in telemedicine that may improve rheumatologic patient care
As part of a panel discussion, panelists will present the following topics:
A. Best Practices for Sustainable Telemedicine in Rheumatology
B. Patient Self Assessment, Remote Patient Monitoring, and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring
C. Advances in Telehealth Research
D. Patient Perspectives on Telemedicine in Rheumatic Care
