This session will review pertinent anatomy and provocative exam maneuvers of the ankle to identify inflammatory arthritis manifestations versus mechanical/degenerative injuries, as well as nerve entrapment syndromes. The use of diagnostic ultrasonography in the evaluation of the ankle to detect inflammatory and crystalline arthritides, mechanical injuries, and nerve entrapments will be illustrated.

Describe physical examination maneuvers to diagnose ankle conditions
Identify the findings of nerve entrapment syndromes of the ankle
Recognize sonoanatomy of the ankle to diagnose and guide injections of the ankle
