Worldwide inequalities exist in access to clinical care. However, the disease burden is often higher in developing countries due to limited clinical services and treatment access. Thus, significant challenges exist in access to rheumatology care and medicines worldwide. The availability of healthcare workers, clinical services, care affordability, and cultural acceptability of treatment are important underlying factors. This session will feature key perspectives from the patient, provider, and health systems levels, highlighting the obstacles to access and creative strategies employed in different settings to overcome those obstacles.
