The importance of mentorship within health care training is well recognized. In regions where rheumatology is less well developed as a specialty, mentors play a critical role in building workforce and capacity. This session will explore how three different mentorship models—uniquely developed for nurses, early-career researchers, and pediatric rheumatologists, respectively—have positively impacted and expanded rheumatology care, research and education in diverse global settings.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to able to describe novel models of mentorship structure to train rheumatology nurses to help to provide rheumatology care in the clinic setting.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe different models of mentorship in (academic) medicine and have insights into how these can be transferred to global and or online formats.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe ways outcomes of mentorship models can be measured.
