The session will describe different techniques and avenues to transform medical education activities into publications or other scholarly work. We will introduce techniques used to develop medical education research (Kern's, key elements of survey design, needs assessment, etc.) incorporating a case study/example.

The session will also present resources for medical education research publication (mededportal.org, medical education journals, etc.) and grantsmanship.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss the most common methodologies used in medical education research (e.g. tips on survey design/dissemination, etc.)
Demonstrate how to apply the FINER criteria to an example study question which the participants can then apply to their own study question
Delineate publication venues for medical education scholarship (or outlets for digital dissemination otherwise)
