Elizabeth completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University where she graduated summa cum laude with distinction. She completed an undergraduate thesis on ethical considerations for health professionals from high income countries responding to disasters in low and middle income countries. During this time, she spent two years in Natasza Kurpios lab studying cellular mechanisms in the dorsal mesentery underlying gut tube rotation. After college, Elizabeth spent worked at Yale University School of Medicine, first with the Department of Pulmonary Care and Sleep Medicine in the Takyar Lab. And then in the Department of Internal Medicine in the Hinchcliff lab. Presently, Elizabeth is a first year medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College. She hopes to pursue a career in academic medicine where she can explore her interests in pediatrics, global health, developmental biology, and immunology.
