I am a clinician and clinical researcher. My research focuses on safe clinical transition of care from the pediatric to the adult medical setting for adolescent and young adult patients with childhood onset rheumatic disease. My long-term goal is to elucidate the biologic, behavioral, and health care processes that determine a successful and safe clinical transition of care from the pediatric medical setting to the adult medical setting for these patients. I am also interested in establishing these factors’ influence on long-term clinical outcomes and how variables unique to this immunologically fascinating cohort affect disease features, physical and emotional function, and health related quality of life in adults with childhood onset rheumatic disease.
