Dr. Pavel Shevtsov is originally from a small town in Eastern Siberia, Russia. After he obtained his medical degree and clinical training in surgery, he established a general surgery practice in his hometown. Pavel has strong beliefs in democracy and personal freedom that were severely limited in his country, so he chose to leave his country, relocate to the USA, and start his career in the health care industry from the beginning again.
Dr. Shevtsov completed a Master of Science in nursing in the USA and worked as a nurse practitioner hospitalist for 4 years in Montana while obtaining his US medical doctor credentials. During this period, he successfully completed several quality improvement projects that had a significant positive impact on patient care in Benefis Hospital.
Pavel began his internal medicine residency training in Billings Clinic, Montana, in 2020 and is now a PGY3 resident. During the residency program, he fell in love with rheumatology and hopes to pursue a rheumatology fellowship in the near future. His clinical interests are ANCA associated vasculitis and the rheumatologic presentation of paraneoplastic syndrome. Dr. Shevtsov is very excited to be a part of ACR Convergence 2022 and have opportunities to share the cases that fostered his interest in rheumatology.
