I am an assistant professor of medicine at Duke University and am the Director of the Duke Lupus Clinic and Duke South Rheumatology Clinic. I graduated medical school from Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have a clinical and research focus on systemic lupus erythematosus. The goal of my research is to improve the care of lupus patients by subtyping lupus symptomatology, developing composite patient and physician reported outcome measures and identifying novel biomarkers for lupus activity. Additionally, I am an investigator on several lupus specific clinical trials.
