I have a long-term interest in clinical and translational research in Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). Earlier studies focused on synovial changes in PsA. More recent studies explore genetic factors in PsA and biomarker development. Collaboration with Bob Winchester (Columbia, New York) and Steve Pennington (UCD) is well-established. I have been involved for many years with GRAPPA; am co-leading the development of a Collaborative Research Network (CRN) and took up the office of co-President of GRAPPA in July 2021. Together with GRAPPA colleagues, I have been advocating for grant application opportunities addressing unmet needs in PsA for several years. This has culminated in the first, significant, joint EU/industry funded Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) consortium, led by UCD, on unmet needs in PsA (HIPPOCRATES).
