Dr. Ivona Aksentijevich obtained her MD from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Since 1990 she has worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA with Dr. Daniel Kastner. She is an Associated Investigator in the National Human Research Genome Institute. During her research career Dr. Aksentijevich has been a major participant in a number of genetic studies that led to identification of disease-associated genes for autoinflammatory disorders. Dr. Aksentijevich is Board certified in Clinical Molecular Genetics and she runs CLIA certified molecular diagnostic laboratory for patients with autoinflammatory diseases.
