Joanne Reed is a Lab head at the Westmead Institute and Associate Professor at University of Sydney. She completed her PhD at Flinders University investigating autoantibodies in Sjögren’s syndrome and lupus. Joanne was awarded a CJ Martin Fellowship for postdoctoral training at New York University where she defined pathogenic mechanisms in neonatal lupus and genetic variants in adult lupus. She then worked at Australian National University and Garvan Institute to develop genomic approaches to study the cells responsible for severe autoimmune pathology in patients. Joanne established the Autoimmunity and Amyloidosis Lab at Westmead Institute in 2021. Her current research uses single cell genomics and recombinant antibody technology to improve prediction and treatment of autoimmune and amyloid diseases.
