Russell D. Cohen, MD, FACG, is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. In addition, he is the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center and the Co-Director of the Advanced IBD Fellowship Program at the University of Chicago. Dr. Cohen earned his BS in biological sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and his MD with honors at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital, and his GI and IBD Fellowship at the University of Chicago. He has been Principal Investigator and Co-investigator for more than 50 research projects in his field, has edited three medical text books, and has authored or coauthored more than 100 articles, abstracts, reviews, books, book chapters, and audiotapes primarily devoted to Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
