Dejan Micic, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago where he has a clinical focus in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and in the management of intestinal failure. Following completion of his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago, he completed a dedicated year of training at Northwestern University in the field of nutrition support and small bowel disorders. At the intersection of the management of various small bowel disorders is the impact of diet on disease course as well as the impact of disease on the ability to digest and absorb nutrients from one’s diet. Dr. Micic’s research efforts focus on the management of small bowel bleeding, the impact of parenteral nutrition on the development of liver disease in the adult patient, and the impact of diet on IBD.
