Luis F. Lara, MD, is Professor of Clinical Medicine and the Medical Director of the Islet Transplantation Program at The Ohio State University. He is also Director of Academic Affairs and Global Health for the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He is a graduate of Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, and trained at Northeast Ohio Medical University, Wake Forest University and Mayo Clinic. Research interests include acute and chronic pancreatitis, islet autotransplantation, and endoscopy. He heads and participates in multiple institutional and multi-center research collaborations.
