Joseph Lim, MD, FACG, is a Professor of Medicine and Vice-Chief of the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale University, where he serves as Director of Clinical Hepatology and Associate Chief, YNHHS Digestive Health. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School (Chicago, IL) and completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University (New Haven, CT), followed by a clinical and research fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA). In his role at the Yale Liver Center, he directs an active clinical trials program evaluating novel investigational agents for viral hepatitis and NASH. He has held numerous leadership roles for the ACG, AASLD, and the AGA, and has served as Section Editor of JAMA, Senior Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Open Gastroenterology, and on the editorial boards of JAMA, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Hepatology.
