Emma Elizabeth Furth, MD, is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania specializing in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary diseases. She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology followed by obtaining her MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After completing her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, she became a faculty member in the department where she continues to serve. She has published and lectured extensively. Her continued work focuses on harnessing quantitative image analytic modalities to the further understanding of disease mechanisms.
