Dr. Monica Rivera is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at California State University, Fresno. She has 25 years of clinical practice across the continuum of care, specializing in the neonatal intensive care unit, pediatrics (spina bifida, rheumatology, spasticity management, premature birth, and early intervention). Her research interests are infant motor development, specifically the onset of crawling and how this event facilitates spatial cognitive processes. Her current research is investigating the interaction between mobility carts use in infants with spina bifida and spatial cognitive outcomes.
