With the increased emphasis on diversifying the physical therapy profession, teaching strategies directed at student physical therapists should be inclusive of, accessible to and welcoming of all students. Through the use of self-reflection, presentation and discussion, this course will provide practical examples of various teaching strategies that can be used in a pediatric physical therapy or physical therapy assistant course to ensure equity within the classroom, elevate all student voices and facilitate an anti-racist learning environment.

Reflect upon their own intersectionality and social position and how that influences their role in the classroom.
Describe and discuss principles and foundations of inclusive, anti-racist and accessible teaching practices in pediatric physical therapy.
Explain, discuss and identify next steps for creating inclusive pediatric PT classrooms that promote equity, diversity and inclusion.
