This course will review the evidence for early detection and intervention for infants at high-risk or with a diagnosis of CP, from the NICU to the end of the first year of age. Models for surveillance, tools, research and implementation into practice will all be discussed. Emphasis will be on interdisciplinary collaborations in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Learning Objectives:
The learner will identify tools availabe for early detection of cerebral palsy in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The learner will identify safe and specific interventions with moderate levels of evidence for infants with risks of developmental delay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The learner will identify safe and specific interventions with high levels of evidence for infants with risks of developmental delay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
