Mr. Kenneth (Ken) Bossert has been a servant to persons with substance use and other disorders for four decades, starting as a counselor in the United States Air Force up until his current role as the Program Administrator for the Community Action Organization of Western New York’s Drug Abuse Research and Treatment Program (DART). DART is a medication assisted treatment program located in Buffalo, New York, serving over 500 patients residing in Erie and the eight surrounding counties. Ken has been in this position for the past twenty years.
Prior to that, Ken served as the Clinical Coordinator for Sisters Hospital’s Pathways medication assisted treatment program for twelve years. Ken has been providing clinical and administrative services in the behavioral health field for forty years. Ken has also been a surveyor for Credentialing Agency of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for 17 years, providing supportive, competent, and collaborative assistance to many programs proving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Furthermore, Ken is currently the Secretary, and sixteen-year Board member, of the Coalition of Medication-Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates (COMPA), NY States largest, and most impactful, advocacy group for patients and providers in the business of saving lives with MAT.
