Alan Lee Nolan, LCSW, Director of Clinical Operations for Connecticut Counseling Centers, Inc., has over 35 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the substance use, and mental health, disorders. With a BS in Psychology from Syracuse University and a MSW from SUNY Albany, Alan has held various administrative, clinical and educational positions. He served as a Fortune 500 Corporate EAP Consultant and corporate recognized Substance Abuse Professional, ensuring compliance with DOT and other federal regulations. Alan presented both workshops and poster presentations at the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD) National Conferences, covering topics such as: alternative strategies for anxiety managment; spirituality and recovery; integrating recovery-oriented standards of care; trauma treatment; confronting stigma and discrimination in treatment; the impact of cannabis on behavioral health treatment, and several others.. In addition, some of Alan’s published works include: “A New Gender-Based Model for Women’s Recovery from Substance Abuse: Results of a Pilot Outcome Study”: The American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse: 2007 33: 5-11; and “Individualized Methadone Dose Improves Outcomes: Study” Addiction Treatment Forum: Monthly News Updates: No. 78, Vol. 8. Alan provided and interactive role-pay training for local hospital resident and interns on the topic of Differentiating Drug-Seeking Behaviors and Pseudo Addition in Patients. Alan has been a guest lecturer at both Alberta Magnus College and Western Connecticut State University. Alan was associated with the Addiction Technology Transfer Center’s NEAS Leadership Institute, serving as the exclusive Connecticut State Mentorship Coordinator, facilitating the integration of NEAS leadership technologies for the participants who were selected from various agencies throughout the state. Currently, Alan serves as the Director of Student Affairs at the CADAC Institute in Norwalk, Ct., providing credentialing and licensing educational requirements for various behavioral health treatment subjects.
