Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor at Brown School of Public Health. Her research focuses on developing innovative behavioral and pharmacologic interventions for substance use. She is identifying disparities in evidence-based practice delivery and facilitating access for people for whom treatment is not available, particularly those involved in the justice system. Since 2016, She has assisted with the implementation of the first statewide MAT program for all people incarcerated using all three FDA-approved medications for opiate use disorders and helps oversee the evaluation of this program and all data associated with its operation. She is the Director of the SAMHSA-funded Opioid Response Network for New England and the Addiction Technology Transfer Center. These centers provide training and technical assistance to addiction treatment providers. Combined, these two federally funded centers provide training and technical assistance support to over 3,000 front-line addiction treatment providers per year.
