Chrissie Martin, MA, LMFT, LAC-S, CS
Christine (Chrissie) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Addictions Counselor Supervisor (LAC-S) and Certified Supervisor (CS) in the state of South Carolina. For the last 15+ years, she has been working in the field of opioid treatment. Her prior experience includes work in mental health, and, for many years, she maintained a part-time private therapy practice. Before starting as a Regional Clinical Director for BHG, Chrissie was the Director of Clinical Services for Center for Behavioral Health, an organization with 20 Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) throughout the US. She lives and works out of Charleston, SC where she still maintains a high degree of involvement in the BHG-Center for Behavioral Health Charleston location. For several years, Chrissie worked as a program surveyor for CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), conducting accreditation surveys for OTPs throughout the country. She is also actively involved in volunteer work at the community, state and national level. She currently represents South Carolina on the board of AATOD, the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence. She also serves as the president for the South Carolina AATOD chapter, SCATOD. On a local level, she maintains active involvement on the board, and previously served as vice chair, for FAVOR (faces and voices of recovery) Lowcountry, a local nonprofit Recovery Community Organization and ARCO member organization. Chrissie is a passionate advocate for individuals and families in and seeking recovery and a strong believer in the value of evidence-based treatment, medication-assisted recovery, harm reduction, and supporting multiple pathways to recovery.
